Global family Rescue Dinner

This was a good reunion for some good friends. This is Bill Borbas with me!

Here I am with Harrison and Jackie. I am sporting the 'winter growth beard"
I have shaved it off since.

No Global Warming?

This is a picture of the north pole on March 18, 2009. For the first time in recorded history on this date there is open water at the north pole. After winter. A cold winter in Chicago.

St Patrick's Day

This is a picture of the Chicago River on St Patrick's day with two tourists taking a picture of it. I am not big on corned beef and cabbage. My idea of Irish food is a bowl of Lucky Charm's cereal... Yuck!

Global Family Rescue Dinner Tonight!

I had breakfast this morning with two of my closest friends (Ben Pahlow and Grampa Burt) and the rock song with some of the oldest lyrics ever came to mind. For some odd reason, I felt like I had to include it in this blog. It seemed apropos, considering the time and circumstances we are going though. Besides I need to put good things in this blog. I certainly don't need to have a potential employer googling around finding some politcally incorect "poo poo" talk somewhere in this blog and hire some other"Chachi" instead of me... (so there!)

"To everything (turn, turn, turn)There is a season (turn, turn, turn)And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to be born, a time to die A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal A time to laugh, a time to weep To everything (turn, turn, turn)There is a season (turn, turn, turn)And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to build up,a time to break down A time to dance, a time to mourn A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn)And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time of love, a time of hate A time of war, a time of peace A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing To everything (turn, turn, turn)There is a season (turn, turn, turn)And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to gain, a time to lose A time to rend, a time to sew A time to love, a time to hate A time for peace, I swear its not too late!"

"Written" by Pete Seeger and originally recored by Pete Seeger in 1962. But later and most famously recorded by the Byrds in 1965
(The words are adapted from the bible, book of Ecclesiastes. As a matter of fact all the words eccept the last line " I swear its not too late" and "turn turn turn" are straight out of the Bible. Very clever!) Folk music rules!
